Sweet Robot (“Sweet Robot ”), Drammensvein 167, Oslo, Norway; complies with applicable law regarding collection of information from children, including the United States' Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and the EU Data Privacy Directive.
Sweet Robot takes the privacy of its customers seriously and wants you to understand how and why it collects, uses and maintains the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use for the Services offered by Sweet Robot.
Personal Information:
Registration: When your child registers for his or her Pets V. Monsters online account, we may ask for a first name, birthday, gender, country and state of residence. None of this is personally identifiable information, because it cannot be used to contact or identify the child offline. During the registration process, the child is also asked to create a user name and password. If a child enters a birth date indicating that he/she is under 13, we require a parent's email address which we use to notify the parent that his/her child has registered at our site. The child’s email address is not collected in our records.
For registrants 13 years or older, we require an email address that is used for our automated system of password retrieval and for sending announcements of new features, activities, and events. In accordance with COPPA, we only collect as much information from children as is necessary to use our product.
Payment Information: For purchases, additional information is collected that is necessary to process payments. Personal Information which we collect for payments will be used used in order to (1) complete the sale, (2) comply with tax and other applicable statutes, (3) maintain accurate business and financial records (in accordance with accepted standards), and (4) assist with customer service.
In order to provide you with added protection we employ a security technology known as a secure-socket-layer ("SSL") to protect the transmission of payment information to the Site. Unless otherwise specified herein or on the Site where you make a purchase, credit card numbers are used only for payment processing and are not retained for marketing purposes.
Your personal data may be transferred to, stored at and processed in the United States (and/or other non- European Economic Area ("EEA") jurisdictions). Personal data collected by those 13 years or older is provided with users informed consent and the user agrees that we may transfer, store and process your personal data outside the EEA in connection with the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy..
Site Management: Once your child has logged into the website, we track your child's activities by using logs of database transactions and server interactions and may use third party tools to collect information regarding IP addresses and “cookies” . This information is collected to optimize the user experience. None of the information collected through these methods is connected to or associated with any other information about your child.
Information In Transit: To protect private and confidential information from interception and visibility to unauthorized persons while in transit, the connection between your web browser and the registration server operated by Sweet Robot is encrypted and verified using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. When setting up a unique session between you and Sweet Robot , the server at Sweet Robot will send its public key to your browser. In return, your browser will generate a randomly generated secret key based on the key it received from Sweet Robot . This key is then sent back and checked by the server at Sweet Robot.
Information In Storage: Information you provide to Sweet Robot is stored on servers operated by Sweet Robot AS and Sweet Robot GmBH, Oslo, Norway and physically placed in North America. The servers handling registrations are placed in a physically shielded environment. By clicking on the padlock symbol in your browser you can check the information encapsulated in the certificate to verify you are connected to the registration server owned and operated by Sweet Robot. While Sweet Robot uses reasonable efforts to protect your privacy, due to the nature of the Internet we cannot guarantee that a third party will not be able to unlawfully intercept a private communication.
Communication Tools:
Email Communication from You: If your child contacts us by email, we use the email address (which is personally identifiable information) only to respond to your child's specific request or question, after which the address is deleted. If we ask for your (the parent's) email address, we keep that information and use it only for the purpose of providing notices to you and requesting parental consent as required under applicable law.
Chat In our children’s games: Members may select pre-constructed messages from in game chat menus. To access this in game chat, parents will be required to provide email consent. This requires providing parents first and last name and email address. We use this information only for the purpose of providing notice to you and requesting parental consent as required under applicable law.
Messaging and bulletin boards: These channels are moderated by staff and filter technology but should not be considered fail proof. We require users who declare they under age 13 to obtain parental permission before participation before using these tools. Sweet Robot prohibits the use of real names and personal information in communications for our children’s games.
Surveys and Feedback: We do not collect any personally identifiable information in connection with surveys or feedback requests, nor is the information provided connected to any personally identifiable information we may have about the child
What Kind of Personal Information Does Sweet Robot share?
Sweet Robot only shares information collected to the following parties outside of the company.
We may comply with requests for personally identifiable information from law enforcement or other governmental agencies, or requested pursuant to subpoena in accordance with federal and local regulations. We will not sell any personal information to any third parties. We may share aggregated statistical data with our sponsors, partners, and/ or the general public.
Purchases made by those who are legally able to make purchases within our games may require personal information to complete the transactions. This information may be shared with 3rd party billing providers to process your payment.
In the case of any significant transaction or event involving Sweet Robot or any of its related entities or divisions such as, by way of example, a sale, merger, amalgamation, financing, re-organization, liquidation, or insolvency, other parties to the transaction and their professional advisors may need to have access to Sweet Robot ’s customer lists and various databases as part of the due diligence process.
How is a Parent Contacted to Obtain Consent to the Collection of a Child's Personal Information?
When your child is asked to provide personal information, we will first collect your (the parent's) email address and use this information to contact you (the parent) by email to notify you that your child wishes to provide personally identifiable information to us, describe the purposes for which the personal information is collected, and provide you with an opportunity to opt-out of the collection of the information.
If your child under the age of 13 requests membership to our site, you will receive an email requesting your consent for your child's access.
How Parents Access, Update or Delete the Personal Information that Has Been Collected From their Child:
Sweet Robot games for children allow users and their parents the ability to view or delete the user information described above at any time. To do this, users may simply cancel their account. We also purge information for accounts that have been inactive for 1 year.
Requests for a copy of personal information we collect, depending on the laws of your country, must be made in writing giving details with which we can identify you.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of our Children's Privacy Policy at any time. If at some point in the future, there is a material change to our information usage practices that affects you or your child's personal information, you will be notified of such change by a conspicuous posting on the Website and will be prompted to elect whether or not you agree to the change.
